Today I made a contribution to Statements on the Diaspora in the Irish Parliament.
Myself and some colleagues have organised a rally for St Patrick’s Day in New York City to tell the real story of the Irish – a story of immigration, seeking refuge, overcoming suppression and conflict.
I am inviting you to join me to take an ‘Irish Stand’ in New York City on St. Patrick’s Night in the iconic Riverside Church.
Tickets are available now from www.irishstand.org.
As Dr. Martin Luther King said when he spoke there almost fifty years ago – “Yes, we must stand and we must speak”.
Joining us on the night will be activist Shaun King, comedian Maeve Higgins, actor Richard Schiff, author Colum McCann, playwright Lisa Tierney Keogh and myself. More and more names will soon be added.
Take an Irish Stand we us for equality and justice on St Patrick’s Day.
