Dear Resident,
RE: Planning Ref 4185/15 – Playing fields to the east of St Paul’s College, Sybil Hill Road, D5
I am writing to you to update you on the submission process regarding the proposed planning development on lands adjacent to St Anne’s Park (Planning Ref. 4185/15).
As you are aware, Dublin City Council’s Planning Department ruled the original application invalid due to the applicant not being listed as a registered company in the Companies Registration Office.
The same application has now been lodged with DCC under a different company name.
My Labour Party colleague Councillor Jane Horgan-Jones and I will be re-submitting our objection to the proposal, which was primarily based on the grounds that it does not meet the criteria of a z15 zone (which the land is currently designated as), and that the development is excessive in the context of the size of the site and the number of housing units the planner is proposing to build. It will also undoubtedly have a negative impact on the biosphere, increase the flood risk, and result in an increase of traffic in an already busy area.
It is crucial that we continue the momentum that local residents led against the original proposal. I encourage you to lodge an objection if you are in a position to do so. If you lodged an objection against the original proposal and did not apply for a refund, you will not be charged for making a submission on this new application if accompanied with your original receipt.
If you would like to make your own objection to this development, you can do so by writing to Dublin City Council (see information below). Please note that the original reference number has been replaces and the current application relates to Ref. 4185/15. Your objection must be received by Dublin City Council’s Planning Department by 4.30pm on Tuesday the 12th of January 2016.
If you have any further questions, feel free to contact my office.
Kind regards,
Minister Aodhán Ó Ríordáin TD
Labour Party, Dublin Bay North
Minister of State for New Communities, Culture, Equality and the Drug Strategy
